Project 6: Ceramic Endeavors
Ceramic Endeavors is actually a synopsis of my time taking a ceramics class at UCO during the fall 2022 semester. This class wasn’t initially going to be my favorite until after the second assignment was given.
These cups are the last assignment from the semester, where this assignment we had to use a pottery wheel to “throw” 4 pots that had to look complete/ professional. These are only 3 of the total 4 required but in the end, I threw a total of 19 different pots and cups. During this assignment I truly found my drive to push myself to see what I could make and how well I could make it.
For these three pots, I used 1 & 1/2 pounds of clay. To test how well I could make a bigger pot I used a 5-pound ball of clay that came out almost perfect. It was the last day of class to use wet clay when I made it, otherwise, I know I could make an even better pot of the same weight.
